It is common for graduates of the Doctor of Chiropractic program to begin their own practices. These practices are small businesses that require knowledge in functional business areas such as accounting/finance, human resources, and supply chain and logistics. The MBA/Doctor of Chiropractic (MBA/DC) is an accelerated multiple degree pathway that allows a student to earn both a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree at an accelerated pace.  This accelerated multiple degree pathway allows students to pursue both degrees at the same time (concurrently) and learn practical business skills while training for their professional work in the chiropractic field.  

Note: The D'Youville MBA program is accredited by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE). 

Students who concurrently pursue the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degrees must meet all graduation requirements for each individual degree.  For specific information regarding the course requirements please visit the Academic Catalogue for each individual degree program. 

Note: The MBA program consists of 36 graduate credits offered in two separate formats - Saturdays face-to-face on-campus and asynchronous online-only. Students who pursue the MBA/DC pathway may choose to complete their MBA courses in either format.  Students in the Saturday-only face-to-face on-campus format complete courses one-at-a-time at an accelerated pace every five weeks. Students choosing the online-only format complete accelerated asynchronous online-only courses every eight weeks and may register for more than one course at a time. Because the curriculums are the same between these two programs it is possible for online-only students to choose to take one or more Saturday-only courses and for Saturday-only students to take online-only courses.  

In addition to the general academic regulations, all full-time and part-time MBA students must meet the academic regulations listed below:

1. A student must maintain a minimum semester/summer and cumulative graduate G.P.A of at least 3.0. 
2. Course grades below "C" do not count toward MBA graduation requirements.
3. Any student who earns a grade below that of "C" in any required MBA/graduate course must repeat the course and earn a grade of "C" or above. Students who earn a grade below "C" in any course may repeat that course one time. Students failing to earn a grade of "C" or above in the repeated course will be academically dismissed from the MBA program. 
4. Any student who fails to achieve a minimum semester/summer or cumulative  graduate 3.0 G.P.A. and/or who has earned more than two grades below “C” at the completion of the term (Spring, Summer, Fall), will be placed on academic probation. Students can be on probation for one term (Spring, Summer, Fall). Probation is for one full-time term. Dismissal occurs if, within the one term probation period, program requirements are not met (graduate GPA 3.0, and no more than two courses below a grade of “B”).
5. Graduation requirements can be met if a student has a cumulative graduate G.P.A. of at least 3.0 and has no more than two required MBA/graduate courses below the grade of "B" (and at or above the grade of "C"). 
6. Students who fail to achieve a minimum grade of "B" for more than two MBA/graduate courses will be required to repeat one or more of those courses to achieve the minimum graduation requirements of a cumulative graduate 3.0 G.P.A. and no more than two courses with grades below "B" (and at of above the grade of "C").  Students who earn a grade below "B" in any course may repeat that course one time. If a student has more than two courses below the grade of "B", repeats one or more of those courses, and fails to earn a grade of "B" or above in the repeated course/s will be academically dismissed from the program. 

Note: Because the MBA and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees are pursued concurrently (and separately) the above listed academic regulations pertain to the MBA portion only. For specific requirements related to the Doctor of Chiropractic degree, please visit the section of the Academic Catalogue that pertains to the Doctor of Chiropractic degree. 

Students eligible for this concurrent degree pathway must meet all of the below listed criteria to be considered for admittance:

1) Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education recognized by D'Youville

2) Currently a matriculated student in good standing in the Doctor of Chiropractic program at D'Youville

3) A minimum cumulative 3.0 G.P A. from all undergraduate work

4) A minimum cumulative 3.0 G.P.A. in current professional program of study

6) Completion of all documents required for application.

Students not meeting some of the requirements listed above but who appear to have the ability to complete the MBA program, may be reviewed for conditional acceptance to the MBA program.

Students, who hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education recognized by D'Youville and who are matriculated in the Doctor of Chiropractic  program at D'Youville may, after the completion of the first full year of professional-level studies, apply for concurrent acceptance to the MBA program.

The documents required for application to the MBA program include:

1) Completion of the Graduate Application form

2) Official copies of transcripts for all colleges and universities previously attended

3) One (1) letter of recommendation from the Executive Director of the Chiropractic program

4) A five-hundred (500) word statement of intent
