Dental Hygiene (DEN)

DEN-400  Dental Hygiene Grand Rounds  (2 credits)  

Scientific, clinical, and professional issues in oral health are examined using a variety of formats that include student case presentations presented in a clinical rounds format, expert guest speakers and journal club. Oral presentation skills as well as analytical and clinical problem-solving skills are highlighted.

Corequisite(s): Final semester of the program and taking Dental Hygiene Capstone. Must have a dental hygiene license and an associates of science or associates of applied science in dental hygiene.

DEN-401  Dental Hygiene Capstone  (2 credits)  

The Capstone experiences integrates, synthesizes and applies knowledge as developed throughout the student's academic career. Students have several options for their capstone. Students may write a critical appraisal of a topic of interest; design an oral health promotion program; or conduct independent research with a faculty or industry mentor. Other options will be considered. Approval of topics and options must be pre-approved by the faculty instructor.

Corequisite(s): Final semester of the program and enrolled in DEN-400 Grand Rounds. Must have a dental hygiene license and A.S or A.A.S in dental hygiene.
